I’m Jeniffer and I want to welcome you to my little corner of the web. My hope is that while you are here you’ll be blessed with encouragement and maybe some giggles too. The name of my blog was born out of my own search for contentment.

I spent the first four years of my marriage battling God- and my husband. I didn’t want to submit. I didn’t want to reverence, and I definitely didn’t want to serve. Eventually, God got a hold of my heart and I got right with Him. My marriage has been blessed ever since. It’s my prayer that Thou Shall Not Whine will encourage other wives out there who struggle the same way I did, and sometimes still do.

A Little More About Me

I’m married to best friend, Ray, and we live in Southern Indiana where we homeschool our 6 beautiful children. Our kids are 17, 14, 5, 4, 2, and 4 months, and we’ve been homeschooling for 6 years now. This year we are doing tot-school, kindergarten, 8th, and 12th grades.

A few random things about me:

  • Reading aloud to my children is my favorite “school” activity.
  • My birthstone is a coffee bean.
  • I’m a budding gardener.
  • I love books- we have them in every room of the house.
  • When I was in third grade, I decided I wanted to be a teacher. My wish came true ;).
  • Before homeschooling, I earned a medical degree. I’ve never used it.
  • I probably own 40 binders. I may have an addiction.
  • Other than writing and reading, crafting is my favorite pastime.

Frugal Living

Having a large family means that I am always on the look out for the frugal way of doing things. If I can make it, I don’t buy it.

This way of thinking also extends to a lot of DIY. If you like doing things yourself, you’ll enjoy these posts:
