Happy fall, y’all! Here’s what happened on yesterday’s freezer cooking Friday . . .
It’s cold outside! We woke up to frost on the cars and freezing floors. Now that the colder weather is here, I’m not so sure we’re ready for it! This past week was beautiful though! We painted outside, had lessons and even a few of our meals out on the porch.
Friday Freezer Cooking
Each Friday, a few of the kids and I gather in the kitchen to prep some meals for the coming weeks. Sometimes it’s full-on freezer meals. Sometimes (like this week) we focus on upcoming breakfasts, snacks, and lunches.
Yesterday we made . . .
- 2 loaves of grilled cheese for the freezer
- 5 pans of cinnamon rolls (I quadruple this recipe)
- 9 pizzas
- granola
- 2 dozen THM (low carb) muffins
- 4 pans of baked oats (I quadruple this recipe)
- 18 hard-boiled eggs
What did I have on my list to make but didn’t get to??
- 4 dozen breakfast cookies
- 4 dozen pumpkin muffins
- 8 cans worth of tuna salad
Yeah, sometimes we don’t get to everything on our list, and that’s okay. There’s always next week. Or sometimes I can even squeeze in an hour or two of freezer cooking during the week. We’ll see!

I know this sounds silly but you said 2 loaves of grilled cheese, do you just prepare them normally then freeze?
Not silly at all. Yes! I just prepare them like normal (minus the butter), put them in baggies and freeze! I slather them with butter and cook them on the griddle from a frozen or thawed state. They both come out the same. 🙂
